Utica Ridge YMCA Personal Training Team
Personal Training Director
Certifications: ACE Cerfified Personal Trainer
Hometown: Davenport, IA Schools: Capri College Experience in Personal Training and Wellness: Played competitive roller derby for 6 years. I have been a captain and coach for both an adult and youth roller derby league. I have ran multiple cross training sessions for adults and youth. I also compete in crossfit. Certifications: ACE Cerfified Personal Trainer I got into Health and Fitness because: After joining a competitive sport, fitness training and prehab became a passion of mine. I stopped focusing on “losing weight” and put that focus towards training to improve my strength and movements. I loved helping my teammates gain strength and endurance to help them become better skaters. I like to share my passion with others so they can see what their bodies are truly capable of. Something interesting you may not know about me: I am an aggressive quad skater. You can find me roller skating around the quad cities, in the streets or at multiple skate parks on ramps. I’m also an artist and have been a hairstylist for 12 years.
Certifications: ACE Personal Trainer, USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coaching, Iowa Coaching Authorization
Been with the YMCA since: July 2016 Hometown: Leroy, IL Schools: Leroy High School & Illinois State UniversityExperience in Personal Training and Wellness: I train and compete in distances from 3000m to the 1/2 marathon. I began my coaching career after running in college at Illinois State, where I ran Track & Field and Cross Country. I have coached many different sports with Track and Cross Country being my main focus. I am now transitioning from team coaching to personal training and look forward to the journey ahead. I got into Health and Fitness because: I started running at the age of 13 and have never really stopped! I believe being active and living a healthy lifestyle is the best gift we can give both ourselves and our children. I want to help more people get active so they can enjoy everything life has to offer. Something interesting you may not know about me: I competed in Japan twice as part of an “all-star” Illinois relay team of 5 men and 5 women. It was a 40 mile relay race throughout the region of Niigata City called the Ekiden Relay. I have also run the 198 mile Hood to Coast Relay 4 times. The race starts on Mount Hood and ends in Seaside, Oregon, with 12 runners taking turns with each running 3 different times (it is like doing 3- 10k’s in less than 24 hours with little to no sleep!). I was a member of the first place mixed-masters team twice.

I then began my undergraduate at the University of Northern Iowa where I am majoring in Movement & Exercise Science. I am striving toward a career in Occupational Therapy after I complete school. I became a personal trainer because I want to help others have the same positive experience I had with health and fitness.
