Everyone knows that old phrase “The customer is always right.” At the YMCA, we take it a step further. Often times, it’s our members who come up with some of the best ideas in our organization. And when a member has one of these ideas, we work with them to bring it to fruition. Some of our best classes came into existence only because one of our members came up with the idea. Some of our members have even gone on to teach some of these classes. For instance, we have a class called Weights For Women that was developed from a suggestion made by a couple of our members. They spoke with one of our fitness coordinators about the possibility of a class for women who didn’t have much fitness experience and wanted to learn together, in private. We thought it was a great idea and made it into a program. If you have an idea, ask around at your local branch. Chances are, your idea is one that another member would love to see happen. |
