The YMCA Learning Center is located within the Davenport Family YMCA at 606 W. Second St. Because of the the Learning Center’s location, the children have access to all of the facilities at the branch. Programming includes the Y’s Kid’s Gym, gymnasium and racquetball courts to help promote large muscle development. Childcare on Harrison Street is a collaboration between the Scott County Family Y and the Palmer College of Chiropractic. The center is located at 724 Harrison St. in Davenport. Children are in close proximity to the Child Care & Family Services Management Team throughout the day. With the YMCA’s emphasis on developing a healthy spirit, body and mind, both centers feature Fit Kids, an exercise class for children three years and older. Both the YMCA Learning Center and Childcare on Harrison Street are licensed by the State of Iowa Department of Human Services. The Scott County Family Y is also a partner in the innovative PEP program (Preschool Education Partnership). The PEP program combines the Y’s core values, fitness ideals and occasional facility usage with the preparatory curriculum of the Davenport Schools. P.E.P. (Preschool Education Partnership)
